MHN Facilitator Training #3

MHN Facilitator Training in Circle Practice — Scope & Sequence Framework

Overall Purpose

To train and certify MHN facilitators to lead healing-centered men’s circles rooted in belonging, accountability, and sacred practice — ensuring fidelity to MHN values and safety in implementation.

Design Goals

  • Build knowledge, skills, and embodiment progressively.

  • Blend asynchronous learning, live practice, and reflective integration.

  • Support real transfer: trainees can actually lead and sustain circles.

  • Keep dosage realistic for working adults (total ~25–30 learning hours).

3-Part Learning Container

Part 1: In-Person Training (7hs)

  • One full-day intensive 10am-4:30pm

  • Introduce MHN’s philosophy; circle facilitation practice; feedback; ceremony.

  • Orientation, Knowledge & Skills

Part 2: Facilitator Learning Circles (10hrs)

  • 5 live 2hr Zoom sessions - Mondays: 6:00-8:00pm

  • Model circle flow, deepen skills (listening, presence, agreements, container building), peer reflection, case studies.

  • Practice & Skill-building

Part 3: Foundations of Circle Practice (6-8hrs)

  • Asynchronous videos + readings + reflection journals

  • Circle principles, trauma-informed practice, facilitator mindset, and logistics.

  • Integration & Readiness

Total Learning Time

Approx. 25–30 hours over 8 weeks

  • In-person practice & ceremony (35–40%)

  • Live small-group Zooms (30%)

  • Asynchronous (30–35%)

This balance keeps enough contact to ensure fidelity and confidence — while maintaining accessibility and flexibility.

Additional Container Elements

  • Facilitator Journal: Ongoing self-reflection and prompt responses each week.

  • Community Platform: Simple Slack or Mighty Networks space for shared reflection posts, readings, and videos.

  • Certification/Completion Criteria:

    • Cohort in-person practice

    • Complete all asynchronous modules

    • Attend 4 of 5 Zooms live (watch recording for any missed)
