Build stronger ways to serve boys and men

MHN partners with schools, tribes, nonprofits, public agencies, health systems, libraries, faith communities, funders, and grassroots leaders to create spaces for connection, accountability, healing, and belonging.

Begin with the need, not a package

You may be responding to isolation, violence, grief, school disengagement, fatherhood, staff readiness, community conflict, or the absence of trusted places for men to gather. We begin by understanding the people, history, assets, risks, and relationships already present. Then we decide what kind of work is appropriate.

Ways to partner

  • Host a circle or circle series

Create a facilitated space for a defined community of adult men with sponsor planning, participant communication, agreements, referral preparation, and follow-up.

  • Bring a workshop

Help staff, practitioners, educators, mentors, or community leaders better understand boys and men and strengthen how they build relationship, belonging, accountability, and support.

  • Host a film and community conversation

Use The Mask You Live In or another approved film as a doorway into facilitated reflection and local action. Licensing, venue, accessibility, facilitation, and response resources should be defined in the proposal.

  • Sponsor facilitator seats

Invest in people already trusted by their communities so they can build stronger circle practice and remain connected to peers after training.

  • Strengthen the Resource Finder

Add or update services, sponsor regional data stewardship, or help MHN identify missing forms of care.

  • Co-design a regional initiative

Bring practitioners, men, service providers, and institutions together to understand local conditions and build a response grounded in community knowledge.

What partners can expect

  • A clear purpose, intended participants, and boundaries.

  • Shared planning rather than a generic program dropped into a community.

  • Facilitators selected for the work and population.

  • Participant communication, accessibility, and referral planning.

  • A defined approach to feedback and learning.

  • Honest limits on what one event or program can accomplish.

Men's Work Workshop

TEACHINGS FOR THOSE SERVING BOYS AND MEN

Many people are serving boys and men without a clear map

A three-hour interactive workshop for educators, therapists, coaches, fathers, mentors, facilitators, youth workers, faith leaders, and others creating conditions for boys and men to heal, belong, and grow.

What we will explore

  • What boys and men may be experiencing across isolation, belonging, purpose, violence, emotional restriction, identity, and connection.

  • The emotional landscapes men learn to inhabit and avoid.

  • Healing-centered masculinity without prescribing one right way to be a man.

  • The Humanize Me framework and practices for reflection, accountability, and action.

  • Men's-work traditions, approaches, strengths, limitations, and ethical questions.

  • Practical facilitation choices for creating more humanizing spaces.

This is an interactive experience

Participants can expect teaching, individual reflection, small-group dialogue, practical tools, and community learning. It is not a passive webinar and it is not facilitator certification.
